A New Year’s Prayer

O Heavenly Father,

We thank you for seeing us through another year.  For this upcoming year, we ask that you crown the year with goodness and allow thy paths to drop fatness.  We know that the earth will yield her increases and that you shall bless us.  Because of you Lord, we fear not for we know that you will nourish us and our little ones.  You comfort us and speak kindly to us.  We will continue to obey and serve You, for by You, we spend our days in prosperity and our years in pleasures.  Blessed be the Lord who daily loadeth us with benefits, even the God of our salvation.  With you Lord, we know you will increase our greatness and comfort us on every side.

O Lord our God, in thee do we put our trust:  save us from all them that persecute us, and deliver us.  No weapon that is formed against us shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against us in judgement, we shalt condemn.  We trust in you Lord with all our heart and lean not into our own understanding.  In all our ways do we acknowledge You, so that You may direct our paths.

While our hearts may devise a way, we know Lord that You direct our steps.  O Lord our God, we shall walk after thee and fear thee.  We will keep your commandments and obey your voice.  We will continue to serve you and to cleave unto you.  For those that are planted in your house Lord shall flourish in your courts.  Again, this is why we put our trust in you Lord, both I and the children which God hath given me.

With you Lord we are strong and of good courage.  We fear not nor are we afraid of them because you are our Lord God.  It is You that goes with us.  We know that You will not fail us nor forsake us. You are our rock, our fortress, and our delivererOur God, our strength, in whom we trust.  You are our buckler and the horn of our salvation, our high tower.

We will not let mercy or truth forsake us.  We will bind them about our necks and write them upon the table of our heart.  May we find favor and good understanding in the sight of God and man.  So let us therefore follow after the things which make for peace, and things wherewith one may edify another.

For me and my house, we will serve the Lord.  We know that all things work together for good to them that love God and to them who are the called according to his purpose.

But verily God hath heard me; he hath attended to the voice of my prayer.  Blessed be God, which hath not turned away my prayer, nor his mercy from me.  Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in thy sight, O Lord, my strength, and my redeemer.

In Jesus’ name we pray.  Amen and Amen!
